Canon EOS 1D Mark III 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)
This is an impression, hands on, and not a detailed review.
Before I used the EOS 1D and EOS 1D Mark IIN. In addition, I also own a EOS 30D and EOS 50D.
The first surprise is good that this machine is not as difficult as you expect from this size.
Probably, at least in part, because the battery is diminished.
Speaking of the battery is a new generation of rechargeable battery and charger. The battery is less than its predecessor 1D, but said at the lastmore.
By the way, if you put two batteries in the charger, it will be one after the other and not both be loaded simultaneously. Just that you know. I did not like that.
When I took the pictures of the early years, it remains "sound" as a powerful camera, which attracts the attention of all with his hard hits. I hope that Canon is trying harder to bring this silence. But in addition to the one-shot modes, and several shots, etc., they have a mode S (silent or slowly?) That seems a little delayed, providedcolsure the shutter speed to try to reduce the mechanical noise. I tried to see a life without reading the manual. It is difficult to reach and leave. Autofocus does not work in life, at least half the normal auto focus by pressing the shutter button.
Buttons and knobs on his return from the strategy 50D, which is a good idea. You no longer need to hold a button and the dial where you want to go. Only once, press and dial.
Of course, you havehave the mode selector button on the top than the 50D on the left. The EOS 1D Mark III is a professional quality camera. Therefore, no automatic mode for portraits, landscapes, etc. You have to know what you're doing. Of course, if semi-automatic also offered, as AV, if you decide to open, or on TV, where you select the shutter speed.
A feeling is interesting that the keys are litle more now. Back 1D cameras are used to these keys are soft to the press. It is always niceuse it, but I expect a longer life because I feel the buttons harder to use but flexible enough and comfortable.
What about ten frames per second? Yes, yes, although I do not count the number of physically pciture per second, but I could easily believe that it is higher than at 8.5 I had with my old EOS 1D and 1D Mark IIN.
WARNING! The EOS 1D Mark III does not accept EF-S. It is a shame because I would like the EF-S18-200mm with this camera.
Last but not least, I have some pictures at ISO 3200 in the Hall of objects with different colors and shades, with conventional light and was surprised to see how they are silent.
Like I said, this is not an exhaustive review, but only first impressions. Hope this helps. I'll write a more detailed review later.
